An interesting (or perhaps depressing) piece on LinkedIn about staying relevant as your career progresses is important to note for all professionals, even solo and small firm attorneys. As the article notes, the work place and work force is always changing, with loyalty and guaranteed employment (for lawyers – think equity partners) becoming, if not a total things of the past, certainly, rarer.
The author gives some advice to follow on remaining pro-active in the work force and yes, in networking. Few can afford to let either their skills or network atrophy. You don’t know what the future is going to bring, but you can do your best to prepare for it.
