Client relationships

Good recent article from lawyerist on how your client relationship’s likely aren’t as good as you think they are.

We have to agree.  Many attorneys, in our experience, dramatically over-estimate their value to their clients, to whom they are, not the “valued partner” of the lawyers’ imagination, but a replaceable suit.

As the article discusses, though, this isn’t surprising, given how little most attorneys do for their clients on a relationship-building level.  Of course, it does not have to be this way.  You can build real relationships.  But it takes work.  And it’s not always easy.
